The Rift Siphon-class opens stable micro-rifts to parallel dimensions and siphons exotic gases that don't exist in normal space. The collection membranes extend into dimensional fractures that the ship itself generates, capturing compounds with properties that violate every known law of chemistry. Twenty-two hundred shield points maintain the dimensional barriers that keep the rifts stable — an unshielded rift collapse is described in Collective safety manuals as "geometrically catastrophic." The gases harvested by the Rift Siphon are unique to Voidborn space and cannot be obtained by any other means. What the Collective does with these exotic gases is classified at the highest level of Collective security. The ship's existence is not classified. What it produces is.
