The Taxonomy-class processes entire debris fields with assembly-line precision — cataloguing, sorting, and storing recovered materials while the onboard laboratory identifies alloy compositions in real time. The default loadout covers the basics: a scanner for assessment, a cargo expander for volume, a pulse laser for cutting apart anything too large for the hold. What sets the Taxonomy apart is the fitting margin left over — the power grid and processing capacity accommodate substantially more equipment than the defaults consume, which means pilots refit for whatever the operation demands. Recovery reports from a Taxonomy operation have been accepted as evidence in three separate interstellar court proceedings.
