Lore
Mining operations lose more productivity to transit than to extraction. The Deep Survey was designed around that insight — not by flying faster, but by carrying enough ore that each trip justifies the time. Dual cargo expanders push the compressed hold well past any competing design in the class. The yield per rock is modest compared to more extraction-focused hulls, but the Deep Survey makes fewer trips and logs every geological sample along the way. The engineering committee considered adding a second mining laser but allocated the slot to a pulse laser instead — Solarian mining regulations require armed capability in contested belts, and the Deep Survey meets every regulation on the books.
