Lore
The Munitions Foundry-class is the Crimson Fleet's military-industrial
complex condensed into a single hull. Feed it raw ore, and the internal
smelters, forges, and assembly lines produce ammunition, weapon
components, and replacement parts without ever docking at a station.
The Fleet designed it to sustain prolonged campaigns in enemy territory
where supply lines are contested. Two weapon mounts protect the
investment — losing a Munitions Foundry sets fleet operations back
weeks. The foundry systems run hot enough to require dedicated cooling
infrastructure, which explains the tonnage that doesn't go to cargo.
