Lore
The name is both a description of the collection process and what
happens to the pilot during a hull breach. Rim engineers welded gas
collection scoops to whatever hull was cheapest at the time, rerouted
the atmospheric intake, and called it an industrial vessel. The gas
collection system makes a noise that experienced pilots describe as
"concerning but profitable." Safety features include a fire
extinguisher duct-taped to the pilot's seat and a handwritten note
that says "DON'T SMOKE." The Rim's approach to volatile gas handling
is "be fast enough that the explosion is behind you."
