Lore

The Bulk Terms exists because someone at the Federation asked what a freighter looks like when you strip everything that isn't cargo. No weapons, no automated cargo management, no redundant navigation — the pilot gets a hold, a fuel tank, and exactly enough hull to keep the hold pressurized. Build materials are common stock, assembly is faster than the competition's pre-flight checklist, and the result hauls cargo at a price point that makes the math work even on thin routes. The defenses are nonexistent. The Federation's actuarial department recommends escort contracts.
