The Halberd-class exists because the Crimson Fleet learned that destroying a ship destroys its cargo. The armored prow, magnetic clamps, and breaching systems allow a Halberd to lock onto a target hull and deliver boarding parties while its own weapons suppress point defense. The extra armor isn't just protection — it's the battering ram. Halberd pilots train for close-range combat where weapons overlap with grappling range. In Crimson doctrine, a captured ship is worth more than a destroyed one. The Halberd makes that calculation practical.
