Lore
A precept is a rule or principle governing personal conduct — and the
Precept-class exists to ensure those rules are followed. The Confederacy's
patrol vessel carries more sensor equipment than weapons, because the
Solarian philosophy of law enforcement prioritizes detection over
deterrence. The onboard scanning suite can identify cargo manifests,
registration anomalies, and outstanding warrants at distances that make
evasion impractical. One weapon mount provides "persuasive capability"
for non-compliant vessels. The official hail begins: "This is a routine
inspection. Please transmit your documentation."
