The third planet orbiting Saiph presents itself as pleasantly unremarkable—a temperate terrestrial world with moderate atmospheric conditions and no immediately obvious signs of past civilization, which honestly makes a refreshing change from the archaeological treasure hunts that always end in paperwork. I've catalogued the mineral compositions and water coverage, and while it would make a serviceable colony site, I suspect the bureaucrats back at Station Meridian will tie it up in environmental assessments for the next decade. Still, there's something almost meditative about a world that asks nothing of you but observation; not every discovery needs to be a revelation.
