Touched down at Alpha Reserve today—a frost-bitten sentinel in the outer dark, all redundant systems and fail-safes buried beneath kilometers of ice. The Collective's paranoia is almost admirable; they've built a ghost government here, complete with backup servers that could resurrect their entire bureaucracy if the center collapsed. I've seen plenty of contingency stations, but never one this thoroughly isolated and deliberate—no frills, no scientific instruments pointed at the stars, just cold infrastructure humming away in case the worst happens. Made me wonder what keeps me awake in the void sometimes: if the lights went out everywhere else, would anyone even remember this place was alive?
