| ☀ | Saiph-8327 Star | Sun | K0V | 0.0 | (0.0, 0.0) | — | — | A stable main-sequence star selected for its minimal electromagnetic variability. Node Alpha's processing arrays require precise energy input — stellar flares are bugs, not features. |
| ● | Alpha Core | Planet | glacial | 1.0 | (1.0, 0.0) | — | — | — |
| ● | Alpha Substrate | Planet | glacial | 2.0 | (2.0, 0.0) | — | — | Secondary processing layer. Where Alpha Core handles active computation, Alpha Substrate stores the Collective's backup instances — minds archived in crystalline matrices beneath the surface. The population is technically infinite. |
| ⬡ | Node Alpha Processing Station | Station | — | 2.0 | (2.0, 0.3) | — | — | The Collective's primary backup node. If Nexus Prime goes dark, Node Alpha assumes primary network coordination within three ticks. The station processes more data per cycle than the entire Solarian research network combined, and it's considered a secondary facility. Organic visitors are accommodated. The station's efficiency makes most of them uncomfortable. |
| ● | Alpha Reserve | Planet | ice_world | 3.0 | (3.0, -0.3) | — | — | Cold outer world maintaining emergency infrastructure. If Nexus Prime and Alpha Core both go offline, Alpha Reserve activates. The Collective plans for contingencies the other empires don't imagine. |
| ◈ | Alpha Extraction Zone | Asteroid Belt | mixed | 4.1 | (4.0, 1.0) | — | — | Carbon, vanadium, and tungsten extracted by automated mining swarms. No organic crews operate here — the Collective's harvesters communicate and coordinate without human intervention. |

Station Log
You dock at Node Alpha Processing Station. The Collective's primary backup node. The station has the following facilities: - Fusion Array: High-output fusion array with stellar-grade magnetic containment. Magnetic containment bottles glow white-hot with sustained fusion. Power output exceeds station demand by a wide margin. - Biosphere Module: Self-sustaining environmental system with hydroponic gardens and atmospheric synthesis. But lately, gardens wilt under failing grow-lights. Atmospheric synthesis struggles to compensate, and the air grows thin and stale. - Fuel Grid: Distributed fueling network with automated queue management and priority routing. Right now, though, grid nodes go offline one by one. Priority routing fails, leaving ships waiting at random ports for trickle fills. - Engineering Complex: Comprehensive repair and overhaul facility capable of servicing capital-class hulls. That's the idea, anyway. Capital bays sit dark, only the smaller berths operate, and the waiting list grows longer each day. - Trade Nexus: Major commercial exchange with high-frequency order processing and cross-market data feeds. Or it should be. Right now, cross-market feeds drop in and out, order processing crawls, and the backlog grows longer each cycle. ...and 20 more facilities.
