The Mimosa system's primary world lives up to its name—a brilliant yellow-gold sphere wreathed in sulfurous cloud bands that shift like silk under the stellar wind. I've seen prettier gas giants, admittedly, but there's something almost defiant about a terrestrial body that refuses to apologize for its corrosive atmosphere. The readings suggest extensive sulfur deposits in the upper mantle, which will delight the extraction crews back at the Consortium, though I suspect they'll find the place as cheerful as a station audit. Still, I marked it for closer atmospheric analysis on the return pass; something about those golden swirls keeps nagging at me.
