Every gram of cargo in a Meridian is tracked by seven independent inventory systems. The manifest reconciliation process runs continuously, comparing predicted mass distribution against actual sensor readings. The default scanner suite isn't for finding asteroids — it's for verifying that the cargo matches the paperwork at every jump. Smuggling aboard a Meridian is technically possible but requires defeating more auditing software than most planetary tax authorities employ. The hold is smaller than competing freighters — a tradeoff the engineering committee accepted in exchange for the fuel range to complete longer routes without refueling.
