Thabit I lives up to its name—a charred ball of rock and regolith that makes even the most hardened prospectors wince. The surface temperature reads hot enough to liquify lead, yet the spectral analysis hints at iron oxide deposits beneath the crusted exterior, which might interest the metallurgists back at Station Kepler, though I suspect they'll remain thoroughly unexcited. I've seen a dozen scorched worlds like this one, each more inhospitable than the last, and each with the same tired promise of marginal resource extraction. Still, I'll note it for the geological record; somewhere, someone will find it useful, even if I won't be the one returning.
