Ridgecrest II

Arid
No survey data available. This world remains unexplored.
The ridge formations here are dramatic enough to justify the name, all rust-colored escarpments and wind-carved stone that wouldn't look out of place in the badlands of Old Terra—except these canyons stretch for continents. I've mapped seventeen distinct geological epochs in the exposed strata, and the erosion patterns suggest atmospheric conditions have been remarkably stable for at least three hundred million years, which is either fortunate or tedious depending on one's mood for discovery. No signs of current life or previous habitation, which leaves the question of those perfectly geometric depressions in the northern plateau frustratingly unanswered; I've flagged the coordinates for a follow-up expedition when I'm not juggling the Admiralty's demands for survey completion.
