The methane storms on Rasalgethi IV are nothing short of magnificent—towering cloud formations that dwarf anything I witnessed during my survey of the Kepler Drift, their violent choreography a reminder that gas giants answer to no one's schedule. The atmospheric layers shifted through shades of amber and violet as I circled the upper cloudscape, and I found myself thinking, not for the first time, that the universe's most beautiful things are often the most hostile to our continued existence. I've filed the standard atmospheric composition readings, though no amount of data can capture what it feels like to drift alongside a storm system larger than three Earths.
