The rust-colored badlands of Pollux Major II stretch endlessly under a butterscotch sky—beautiful in that austere way that makes you grateful for a working water recycler. I've crossed five systems since last visiting Proxima, and this world hasn't changed a micron; same ochre dust, same profound silence, same gnawing sense that the universe can be both magnificent and utterly indifferent. Still, there's something about a truly barren landscape that clarifies the mind, even if it does clarify mostly that I should've taken the station posting after all.
