The crust itself appears rich in silicon deposits, which explains why the surveyor drones detected such unusual electromagnetic signatures; I've theorized that subsurface mineral concentrations are generating them, though I'll need deeper scans to confirm. Reminds me somewhat of Thessala Minor, except here the spectacle feels less haunted and more... genuinely alive, if a planet can be said to possess such a thing.
