Nekkar I is a terrestrial world orbiting close to its parent star—the sort of scorched, airless rock that makes you question why the survey algorithms flagged it at all, until you notice the unusual mineral composition glinting beneath the regolith. The spectral analysis suggests substantial deposits of iron and silicon, which would be remarkable only if a hundred other planets didn't offer the same, minus the radiation that'll eat through hull shielding in a week. Still, I've logged it; perhaps the mining consortiums will find something worth the expense, though I doubt it. Another system, another forgettable ember.
