Maplevale III presents the sort of tepid terrestrial sphere that makes one understand why trade route cartographers drink—breathable atmosphere, stable orbit, nothing remotely remarkable about its geology or climate, and yet somehow three separate outpost applications are pending with the Colonial Board. I suspect it's less about the planet itself and more about the fact that it sits precisely halfway between two profitable stations, which explains why I've now filed reports on seventeen "promising frontier worlds" that are essentially way stations masquerading as discovery opportunities. Still, the drinking water is potable and the local magnetosphere is robust enough to keep solar radiation at bay, so I suppose it'll serve some bureaucrat's expansion quota well enough.
