Touched down on LHS 1140 I today—a rocky terrestrial world orbiting close enough to catch the warmth of its dim red star, yet somehow still feels lonelier than most places I've visited. The landscape is all rust-colored regolith and ancient impact basins, unremarkable in the grand scheme of things, but there's something oddly meditative about walking a world so utterly indifferent to your presence. I've catalogued the basic geological composition and moved on; another data point in the ever-growing archive, though I'll admit the silence here is the kind that makes you remember why you left Earth in the first place.
