Homam II

Arid
No survey data available. This world remains unexplored.
The rust-colored expanse of Homam II stretches below us without mercy—a planet so thoroughly desiccated that even the wind seems to have given up trying. I've seen plenty of arid worlds, but something about this particular wasteland reminds me of Kepler-442b, only far less hospitable; the spectroscopy suggests nothing but iron oxide and silicate dust for as far as the probes can reach. Still, the thermographic patterns hint at some deep subsurface geology that might reward a closer look, assuming we can convince the bean counters back at Station Meridian that studying another dead rock is worth the fuel expenditure. Another name for the field journals, I suppose—and another entry for the "promising but ultimately forgettable" file.
