The surface of Homam I is a hellscape of cracked obsidian and molten ravines—a place where the definition of "habitable zone" comes to feel like a cruel joke. I've seen plenty of scorched worlds, but there's something almost artfully torturous about this one; the geometry of its fissures suggests some ancient tectonic violence that makes even my weathered nerves stand a bit on edge. No signs of life, no salvage worth the risk, but I found myself lingering in orbit longer than the fuel calculations strictly permitted, watching the light play across those glassy plains like it was performing just for me.
