Touched down on Gudja III this morning, and I'll be damned if it isn't the most aggressively ordinary world I've catalogued in the past three years—temperate, stable, unremarkable geology, the sort of place that makes bean-counters at the Colonial Authority absolutely giddy with development potential. The indigenous life forms are pleasant enough, if somewhat indifferent to visitors, and the atmospheric composition poses no complications whatsoever. I've already filed the standard report and suspect I'll be reassigned to survey something with actual teeth within the fortnight. Still, there's a peculiar comfort in ordinary; after a decade chasing stellar oddities that make your instruments scream, it's oddly restful to stand on a world where the biggest concern is whether the rain will be gentle or merely persistent.
