Gold Run V

Glacial
Frozen outer world. Ice mining supplements the cryobelt operations.
The perpetual ice storms here are ferocious enough to sandblast hull plating, yet somehow this frozen hell harbors veins of native gold threaded through its crust like some cosmic joke about contradiction—beauty and brutality in the same breath. I've surveyed six hundred systems and still haven't stopped marveling at how nature arranges such things. The locals (hardy folk, unsurprisingly) have carved out settlements in the lee of basalt ridges, and they regard my wonder at their home with the patience of people who've long since made peace with existential harshness.
