Touched down on Gold Run II expecting another forgettable rocball, but the sprawling aurum deposits glinting across those rust-colored plains actually caught me off guard—reminded me why I fell in love with this work in the first place, before the trade consortiums started mapping everything worth mapping. The local geology is straightforward enough, yet there's something almost defiant about how much precious metal this world is flaunting; makes you wonder what geological violence churned it all up to the surface. The miners here have the glassy-eyed look of people who've struck it rich and are too tired to enjoy it, which, fair enough, I'll take that over another soul-crushing station bureaucracy.
