The endless rust-colored dunes of Dusthaven II stretches beneath a butterscotch sky—beautiful in its desolation, though I've seen three planets like it in the past decade alone. Still, there's something humbling about standing on a world so utterly indifferent to human wonder, where the only sound is wind scraping across iron oxide plains and your own breathing in the suit. I suspect the survey teams will find it worthwhile enough for the geological records, but I'll be honest: after Kepler's luminous ice caps, this feels like the universe reminding me that awe is a luxury.
