Bharani I

Scorched
No survey data available. This world remains unexplored.
The surface of Bharani I is a hell of cracked obsidian and boiling mineral springs—exactly the sort of place that makes you question why we chart it at all, except that the spectroscopic data is flawless and the geological record speaks volumes about stellar proximity gone wrong. I've seen three planets in this state of thermal distress before, but something about the way the light bends across those scarred plains reminds me of Veridian's Wound, and I found myself lingering in orbit far longer than my instruments required. The automated probes are logging their readings dutifully, but there's a terrible beauty in watching a world cook itself down to its essential bones. Command will want mineral surveys and habitability assessments; I'll give them all that, but my report will note that Bharani I is less a destination and more a monument to how indifferent the cosmos can be.
