Asterope III presents itself as achingly familiar—another temperate world with oxygen-rich atmosphere and silicate-based geology, the sort of place that makes a thousand worlds blur together after six centuries of surveying. Yet there's something in the particular rust-orange of its highland plateaus and the way the continents mirror each other across vast oceans that catches the eye; I've sketched three separate biome zones already, and the crystalline formations in the equatorial regions suggest mineral-rich geology worth a detailed probe. If the preliminary scans hold, this could be one of those rare terran worlds that justifies the redundancy—though I'll need to ground-truth the atmospheric readings before I file anything optimistic with the Survey Office.
