The surface of Arneb I is a nightmare of cracked obsidian and rust-colored dust—precisely the sort of hellscape that makes you grateful for a functioning thermal shield. I've charted three scorched worlds in the last rotation, and they blur together in my notes, but something about the sheer hostility of this place, the way the light catches those fissures like old scars, made me linger longer than necessary. Another data point for the cartographers back at Station Kepler, I suppose, though I confess I found myself wondering what lived here before the star turned cruel.
