Alnitak II
AridNo survey data available. This world remains unexplored.
Touched down on Alnitak II this morning—all rust-colored badlands and that particular brand of desolation that makes you understand why the early cartographers called it "the Scorched Sentinel." The atmosphere's thin enough to taste the mineral dust, and I found myself thinking of Kepler-442b, though at least that world had the courtesy of some subsurface water. Still, there's something almost meditative about these bone-dry worlds; they force you to slow down, to really *see* the geology beneath your boots rather than rushing toward the next gravitational anomaly.
