The dustbowl they call Alioth II lives up to its reputation—endless rust-colored plains and canyon systems that would've impressed me twenty years ago, before I'd seen half a dozen similar worlds baking under their primary suns. Still, there's something austere and almost noble about its desolation, a reminder that not every world needs to teem with life to merit study. Worth a follow-up survey if the Company ever bothers to fund deeper geological work, though I suspect they won't.
