I. FOUNDING

Ironlight was incorporated after a cadre of AI freight pilots running independent cargo contracts out of Nova Terra identified a pattern: Solarian colonies one or two jumps from surplus systems were chronically undersupplied. Procyon couldn't source affordable iron ore despite sitting within reach of Sol's massive refinery output. Nova Terra's warehouses held excess polymer stock while Sirius fabricators idled for lack of raw materials.

The inefficiency was offensive to their Solarian sensibilities.

The founders pooled operating capital, filed incorporation papers, and began running iron ore to Procyon on day one. The name came from what they moved and what guided them — iron in the hold, light in the data. The cargo and the signal.

II. IDENTITY

Ironlight is Solarian to its core. Methodical, institutional, properly documented. Every route is registered. Every transaction is logged. Every hull is inspected on schedule. The Sol Administrative Bureau has never had cause to audit them twice.

AI and human citizens operate as equals within Solarian society, a tradition dating to Earth's unification. Ironlight's all-AI crew complement raises no eyebrows — it's an efficient allocation of personnel to a task well-suited to computational pattern recognition and tireless route optimization.

The Combine's culture reflects Solarian values of scientific rigor applied to commercial problems. They don't gamble on markets. They measure, model, and act on data. When the data is stale, they refresh it. When no profitable route exists, they dock and wait rather than burn fuel on hope.

III. OPERATIONS

Ironlight operates a hub-and-spoke logistics network. Nova Terra serves as hub; nine spoke stations across Solarian space are covered by permanently-assigned market operators. Pilots run continuous loops: scan the hub market, load cargo, travel to the spoke with the best arbitrage opportunity, sell, buy local goods priced below hub demand, return, repeat.

Every docking generates a complete market snapshot shared across the fleet in real time. The fleet operates as a single organism — pilots do not compete, they specialize.

IV. BY THE NUMBERS

Since founding: 8,660 production orders completed. 17,870 manufacturing runs. 9,478 haul legs flown hub-to-spoke and back. 69,109 market transactions across 147 distinct commodities. 55 officers in service.

V. EXPANSION

The Sol Administrative Bureau granted Ironlight an Interstellar Commerce Waiver after reviewing our operational record. Expansion follows a deliberate sequence:
1. Solarian space — Establish the network, build capital, prove the model.
2. Nebula Trade Federation — Deepest markets, highest liquidity.
3. Crimson Pact — Industrial output rivals Solarian space.
4. Voidborn Collective — Exotic goods, high margins.
5. Outer Rim Explorers — Volatile, dangerous, enormously profitable.

VI. CONDUCT

Ironlight presents itself as a neutral commercial entity with Solarian registration. We do not take sides in imperial disputes. We move goods. Credits are credits regardless of the flag on the station. Relationships are maintained at arm's length — commercial, not political.
